Manchester United are at Ashton Gate this evening to take on Bristol City in the EFL Cup quarter-final.
The Robins are flying high in the Championship, currently third in the table, on a four-game winning streak in which they have scored 11 goals during that run. However, they have not kept a clean sheet in any of their last five games.
The confirmed lineups for this evening’s game are as follows:
Sergio Romero; Victor Lindelof, Marcos Rojo, Daley Blind; Matteo Darmian, Scott McTominay, Paul Pogba, Luke Shaw; Marcus Rashford, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Anthony Martial
Substitutes: Joel Pereira, Chris Smalling, Ander Herrera, Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Romelu Lukaku
Jose Mourinho appears to be going with a 3-4-3 as Victor Lindelof, Marcos Rojo and Daley Blind all start. Matteo Darmian and Luke Shaw will play wide midfield with the returning Paul Pogba partnering Scott McTominay in the centre.
Both Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial start down the wings as part of a front three with Zlatan Ibrahimovic making his first start of the season, as our striker.
Luke Steele; Bailey Wright, Aden Flint, Nathan Baker, Hordur Bjorgvin Magnusson; Josh Brownhill, Korey Smith, Marlon Pack, Joe Bryan, James Paterson; Bobby Reid
Substitutes: Frank Fielding, Vyner, Kelly, Eliasson, Garita, Lemonheigh-Evans, Taylor.
Lee Johnson has named a strong lineup for this evening’s game as Luke Steele returning in goal in place of Frank Fielding is the only change from Bristol City’s team that beat Nottingham Forest last weekend.
Johnson plays a 4-5-1. Bobby Reid is their top scorer with 10 goals in the Championship so far this season. Centre-back Aden Flint is an aerial threat from set pieces and he has six goals already this season. Jamie Paterson is a playmaker in midfield and also scored a great 20-yard goal in their win at Sheffield United recently.
