Confirmed: Man Utd squad to face Man City

Manchester United host Manchester City at Old Trafford this evening in a game that we will be looking to go level on points with Chelsea in fourth and damage our neighbour’s title chances.

Coming off the back of a heavy 4-0 thrashing at Everton on Sunday, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be looking for a reaction from his squad.

The boss won’t be able to get a reaction from Phil Jones as the centre-back is ruled out after going off injured at half-time at Goodison Park over the weekend. Ole will also be without defenders Eric Bailly and Antonio Valencia just as he has been for some while now. Luke Shaw is back from suspension and Matteo Darmian keeps his place in the squad. Marcos Rojo has not been included.

Ander Herrera also continues to be absent from the squad. It is expected that Scott McTominay or Fred will partner Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba in a central midfield three this evening.

As for the attack; Alexis Sanchez and Anthony Martial are both included in this evening’s matchday squad, though Marcus Rashford and Romelu Lukaku are most likely to start.

The Manchester United squad to face Manchester City this evening has been confirmed by the Manchester Evening News as:

Goalkeepers: David de Gea, Sergio Romero, Lee Grant
Defender: Ashley Young, Matteo Darmian, Diogo Dalot, Chris Smallng, Victor Lindelof, Luke Shaw:
Midfielders: Fred, Nemanja Matic, Scott McTominay, Andreas Pereira, Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata
Forwards: Alexis Sanchez, Marcus Rashford, Romelu Lukaku, Anthony Martial
