Diouf heads out on loan

Rovers have swooped to secure a loan deal for Manchester United’s highly-rated young striker Mame Biram Diouf. The Senegalese international arrives on a season-long deal at Ewood Park.

via Blackburn Rovers Official Site.

I had a look at their squad and it looks a bit thin in the strikers department. Hopefully he gets a fair share of games. A season-long loan deal is probably good for him because on evidence of his pre-season performances he’s not going to get a nod ahead of Rooney, Berbatov, Owen and Hernandez. Even so, Macheda would be ahead of him in the pecking order.

@Conor: I could say the very same thing about you in regards to your feelings about me or TonyMontana. Hypocrisy goes both ways mate. I don’t need to break bread with the man to know he is wrong and that he is missing the point of the Green & Gold campaign completely. And apparently you are just as thick and stubborn as he is. So one day you will get the wake up call too. Look forward to it. πŸ™„

    August 15, 2010 at 3:40 am

@Grognard: So despite the fact he’s openly said he doesn’t have a problem with G&G, which is all that’s going on right now…you think he’s complaining about right now?

Like I said, he’s just looking at it with the future in mind – what’s going on now is fine, let’s hope it stays this civil. All he’s saying, IMO.

Of course, my opinion doesn’t matter. Because it’s wrong. And you’re right.

  3. Conor

    August 15, 2010 at 3:47 am

@Grognard: The thing is though, you can’t. I mean, I’m not forcing my opinion on everyone, I don’t dominate the blog like you do constantly, and I don’t call other people stupid to make myself feel intellectual. Constantly. So really, I’d prefer it if you actually had a reasoned debate about it, rather than going on the defensive and calling me thick.

What’s the point of calling me thick, for example? I’ve not insulted your intelligence nor would I ever dream of it, because it’s a very low thing to do…yet you’ll jump right in with an insult whenever you can. Like I said, you’re not only annoying others, you’re stifling debate. And of course ‘you don’t care’, but the thing is, you really should.

So hows about holding back a bit, eh? Try something selfless. Let the debate flow without having your input on every minor detail. What d’you think?

@Conor: Blindness and ignorance is not something to be proud of mate. Yet you wear it well.
I’m not going to waste any more time getting into a spitting incident with you because clearly you have no respect for the views of anyone who doesn’t see things form you conformist butt kissing position. So up yours and have a nice day. It’s kind of funny that you are gone for such a while but when you return it’s back to attacking me and others like me who don’t share your puritan views on life. Stick those views up your rear ventricle and start allowing for alternate ways of thinking and other causes on this blog. And if as you say my views are too loud and unfair may I remind you that i am not holding a gun to your’s or anyone else’s head to read my rants. You read them because frankly you cannot resist because deep down inside you their is an anticonformist dying to get out and I am your Messiah. That or you are just a glutton for punishment. Either way mate, I’m not forcing you to read my rants so if you don’t like the pain that truth brings, close your eyes, ears and mouth and do like a good chimp and follow Fergie’s Chimp Brigade. πŸ™„

@Grognard: I think you just answered the question about why Fergie acts the way he does: He is staying put because he:
    1) believes “he could successfully manage his team”
    2) he is “loyal” to the club (with the assumption that United > Glazers)

Your examples are of managers who seek career advancement (Mourinho, Coyle), more money (Ancelotti, Gaal), and who have very little affiliation with /loyalty to the clubs they coach (Sven, Rafa, Gaal, Redknapp).

Ferguson, as we all agree, IS United. That’s what 25 years means.

@Conor: Conor, I hear you loud and clear. Excellent points and observations!

    “I am your Messiah”.

Yes, of course, I bow down to a glory hunter with a personality disorder and a pathetic lifestyle that consists of trying to get people on the internet to like, or even possibly, if you really hit the jackpot, revere you, using the fact that this blog is heavily populated by younger members who are easily influenced to spread your ideas and feel good about yourself and subtly force others to conform to your anti-conformity. And anyone who doesn’t is an idiot. Teach me the ways man, tell me how you got to this glorious stage in your life?

Have a good life mate, I’m out.

  7. Grognard

    August 15, 2010 at 4:00 am

@Conor: He isn’t looking to the future at all. If he was he would stand up and challenge the owners over their highly irresponsible and criminal behaviour and then fall on his sword as a martyr for the cause which would get all fans in revolt over the owners and eventually force them to sell. Instead however, he agrees with them and supports them while slapping all of us in the face who can see clearly and see what 800 million in debt and growing is going to eventually do to this team when the loans are called upon on JUDGEMENT DAY. On that day I can guarantee you that no Glazer will be around to pay off any debt. Instead United will be left reeling like Pompey but more like Leeds United. And we all know what happened to them. It wasn’t that long ago when they were an English football power.

Fergie fails to see the big picture and so do you. For people like you it’s lets hope the team wins this season and rah rah lets cheer them on as if there is nothing wrong. Blind and ignorant is no way to get around in life mate. Wake up and smell the coffee. This team is being systematically being stripped and flayed by the owners and in the process our beloved manager is giving them his blessings while sitting back and making due with a rag tag bunch of old timers, misfits and children. Sorry for being so harsh with you Conor but seriously mate, you frustrate the Hell out of me because you just don’t get it. I’ve known you for a long time on this blog to be smarter than you are showing me here whether we agree on things or not. Look at the club’s financials and read the horror story then check out the Glazer family business history and tell me then if you feel confident in our future and if Fergie isn’t being a colossal fool. I’m just pleading with you and others to see the light. It’s not about trying to be loud and overtake this blog and spread my agenda or any of the BS reasons people have given. It’s about caring about the future of this great club and seizing it from the clutches of vipers who are intent on destroying it and fucking off with the wealth while our manager sits blindly in his office whittling his thumbs and drinking a bottle of wine. The sooner you and some others realize that I am not the enemy here, the better off we all will be.

@Conor: I don’t call you or anyone stupid because I like to make myself feel intelligent. The fact is I am intelligent and i don’t need yours or anyone else’s validation to that fact. The reason I call you stupid is because you are blindly going along like a sheep to the slaughter ignoring all the evidence and all the clues that should wake you up to the fact that you are being had mate. Ignorance is bliss I guess. Don’t knock me for having the IQ or the aptitude to sift through the BS and garbage being delivered out of Old Trafford because that’s exactly what it is, BS and garbage. They are the biggest liars and flim flam men on the planet. And they have the likes of you eating out of their palms because you are a conditioned sheep that asks no questions but just follows blindly. That’s your prerogative and for that I respect you for taking your stance but what I cannot respect is blind naivetΓ© over the facts and over the constant deluge of BS Fergie delivers through his crack troops in the media. Like I said in an earlier reply, look at the financials (They are available online) and then go read about the Glazer’s empire and how it’s cracking at the seams while they live in opulence on borrowed money. They are disgusting maggots and sharks and anyone who is allied with them is my enemy.

It’s like I am the reincarnation of the Third Reich in your eyes and to be honest, I resent your lack of understanding and your puritan views towards my presence on this freedom of speech blog. I am free to express my views about football on this blog whether you like it or not mate. And trust me, you are not going to stop me with your insults or show of frustration. My intentions are not to piss you off. Not at all. I use this blog to talk, debate and sometimes express my views about football and United specifically. You make it sound like I am coming on here spouting fascist Nazi doctrine and demanding ethnic cleansing. Get a grip of reality mate. I am only debating and talking football or the business of football, both good and bad. And if the game has villains, I will talk about them and vilify them.

The fact you are such a wallflower who doesn’t like or appreciate in your face type people like me is not my problem. I don’t want you to feel threatened or offended by me or my presence but then again, if you are, it’s not my problem it’s yours. You have the problem of being intolerant of other and intolerant of views that aren’t simpatico with yours. Too bad, learn to live with the disappointments in life. I have. But then again, I have some fight in me.

@Grognard: This used to be an invigorating blog with plenty of new ideas about our team, but, alas we now cackle and scratch like a bunch of old hens, about who hates who the most.
Without directly accusing you of leading a destructive path, you have, however, taken it upon yourself to lead a spuriously weak campaign against SAF and his allegiance to those who write his paycheck.
You seem not to be able to rest until you have convinced the weakest amongst us, that your own personal vendetta, is the path to redemption from the Glazer regime.

Fact is, you have very few allies, and your constant, negative, rhetoric will probably turn the tide against you.
I long for the day when news of the team takes precedence over these petty politics. πŸ˜₯

@Grognard: You are falling off the deep end with all this Glazer Glazer Glazer stuff. Yes, they are bad and, No, you cannot do anything about to truly impact Glazers without going to jail.

Can you (or fans in general) stop Glazer from making millions off of United? Not really.
Is Fergie the best man for this job? Hell yes.

Conor hits the other points about Fergie and Glazers and I don’t want to repeat but in short. Fergie is the right man for this job and he is correct in his statement that fans should try to focus more on the team and games than read 2nd rate economic “analyses” of unknowns.

If United keep winning, Glazers make money and United will not crumble.
If United start losing, Glazers make money and United will crumble.

    I take the first option…

In Fergie I trust (because he deserves my trust).

    Glory Glory Man United!!!

I was okay with some of the rhetoric on here but this seems to be an in house club for like minded people only. If “newbies” whatever threw hell that is supposed to mean are supposed to toe lines and not question the “oldies”, it kind of takes the fun out of a civilised, adult discussion that a lot of people seem to think they portray here. I am sure I am going to get the “where i can take my undemocratic stand” speil as usual but going overboard for the sake of it sounds like a baby throwing the toys out of the pram. Sing another tune or shut it! πŸ™„ Please don’t mislead people about the freedom of speech bit on here because there isn’t any! Not without expecting silly abuse that is! πŸ˜• And all those Scholes whiners should see the shield match a couple of more times before talking out of places where the sun don’t shine!

    August 15, 2010 at 8:00 am

Grognard, you’re avid lively etc, but on this I’m not on your side. We all know about your Glazer stand but there’s a fine line between stimulating discussion and being repetitive.

Also, everyone, I believe, the whole Glazer debate has run its course, and we all essentially know where each of us stand on it. There is no added value to continuing to throw a fit everytime Fergie sucks up to the Glazers. There’s nothing shocking about it, and perhaps it’s time to talk about the actual football. And if there’s nothing to talk about the actual football then those who don’t want to talk about it don’t have to and come back when they have something new to offer.

The Glazer debate is boring. And any more debate on the financial aspect of it that hasn’t already been done to death is pointless.

If I am not mistaken – Conor is not a ‘newbie’ but one of our long lost ‘Oldie’ members of Red Rants? If I am right Conor, then you have always been able to throw a good few punches in your debating, and take a good few back and that without flinching πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜† . In the event we have been strongly advised by Red Ranter to move on from the G&G debating, then my lips will remain sealed πŸ™‚ . But if you are the long absent Conor – where the hell you been mate? I feel somewhat responsible really for the Tony Montanna & Grog outbursts on the Fergie/G&G campaign debate, due to my mentioning it first in a post yesterday – so to all 3 of you, I apologise for stirring up a hornets net again, because that was genuinely not my intention. Soooooooooooooory guys!

  22. Grognard

    August 15, 2010 at 9:11 am

@Red Ranter: Excuse me mate but whatever happened to people who don’t agree or share my opinions just ignoring them? When you buy a paper do you read it every article? Of course you don’t. So why censor me and stop my right to pursuing my campaign against the evil that has taken over Old Trafford? I believe in my heart and soul and every fibre of my being that I am right and I have given valid reasons as well as proof for my position despite some on here who continue to ignore the proof I and a few others have offered up in defence of our position.

It is not like you to allow youerself to get intimidated by the bellyaching crybaby act of a few conformist chimps who see no evil hear no evil and speak no evil. This site is not just about analyzing matches and debating about players. It’s about Manchester United proper. And the Glazer corruption and extortion and Fergie’s willing compliance in it is something that shouldn’t be ignored, it must be addressed.

Do you honestly think that thousands of Green & Gold fans out there are with RedRich, Conor, Madschester and all the other conformists? I think not. I know from the correspondence I get from Must every week that I have way more people on my side than these people would like to admit to. Fact is they are scared because they don’t like turmoil and disturbance in their daily patterns. They wake up and expect things to go along swimmingly and avoid all the problems because their stress levels can’t take it. So they like to be positive and optimistic while they hide behind their white picket fences in suburbia where the sensible people live.

I really don’t care so much that they aren’t buying into the whole conspiracy angle I and those who agree with me are offering. Like I said earlier, it’s their prerogative to disagree. But they don’t stop there. No they insist that I stop….PERIOD. Well that’s not fair and that’s not democratic and it goes against every rule you have ever set up for this blog. Like I have said to you and others at infinitum, I only get nasty when threatened or told I must stop doing what I am doing. For you to tell me to stop is like a knife in my back because you above all people I would expect more from regarding this serious and delicate matter of free speech and expression.

I am not cheering against United, I am fighting for them. I am fighting a fight that I admit to be losing on this blog because too many on here are too thick to get the reality of the situation. Instead they suffer from a lethargic and hopeless denial and the only thing that concerns them is if we beat Newcastle. The last time I saw that kind of behaviour it was from a drug addict or an alcoholic. It’s sad and it’s pathetic and when this team is threatened with receivership and financial ruin in a few years, when the loans are due and the Glazer’s have defaulted and skipped town, then what will you and everyone else who doubted me say? I’m Fucking sorry.

Did it ever occur to you and these people that maybe, just maybe I and those who see clearly like me could actually be right? But instead I get accused of being anti-United and or on being on a personal vendetta against the manager for reasons I do not fathom, nor should they. The whole Glazer debate has not run it’s course. I, Craig, TonyMontana. and others have plenty to say about the crap that is going on behind the scenes at Old Trafford but now you are saying a topic that is vital and pertinent to the future of this club is off limits. CHRIST ALL MIGHTY, the Glazer’s are winning. You are letting them win. How many other blogs I wonder are suppressing their ant-Glazer campaigners? This is so wrong on so many levels. Need I say how many evil individuals in history took power and kept it because of suppressive measures that infringed on the rights of individuals to speak their mind against something, even if it was unpopular and in the minority.
It’s shocking to me that i am getting my wrist slapped for doing nothing wrong. Absolutely nothing wrong other than voice my displeasure over the current regime running Manchester United. And for very good reason I think.

My critics never have considered the fact that I was a strong loving supporter of the Boss until I could see he was not playing by the rules and not concerned about the fans. Time after time he has come out in support of the owners while condemning the Red Knights and the Green & Gold campaign. Time after time he has lied to us about the transfer market and other things and as this goes on so does the extortion of the owners and Fergie sits there and says and does nothing against them while the debt grows, and all the profits from the club miraculously disappear. Yes by all means, I am the bad guy. So I will shut up but I won’t shut up without a fight. Instead I’ll tell you and all those guys against me to stick it because all of you are wrong and are acting like a bunch of neocons.

Thank you so much for repressing my freedom to speak against the owners and the manager of this club who are leading us down the garden path to doom. One day you will all see rerality and then I hope you all swim in it. You deserve it. 😑 😑 😑 😑 😑 😑 😑 😑 Assholes Shame on you Red Ranter and double shame on those who drove you to this because they are truly sad and pathetic individuals have no sense of soul or respect for freedom of expression. And if there are any in support of my position, now would be the time to speak. I’ll expect silence in a situation like this as I feel like I am being crucified for taking a virtuous cause seriously. Christ you people have hurt and disappointed me this evening. πŸ™ πŸ™

Pretending to be coming out of a corner all guns blazing does not make you Chuck Norris! No one is insisting you stop opining, but just to stop calling others idiots which is achieved almost in every comment and under a lot of guises. I love your presentation of arguments and you come across as a very intelligent person, but arrogance has to be earned. None of us have issues with stress levels or dealing with realities. Trust me, where i live those are part of everyday life. All is being asked us a semblance of understanding and humility, if that gets your goat, i have nothing more to say! I have agreed with you on the Ferguson and Glazer front and there is nothing more add for the both of us. Talking about this day in day out without complete knowledge apart from the fact that a business man is out to make money is short sighted and just wrong, but hey, what would i know i am a brown noser!

  25. Conor

    August 15, 2010 at 10:54 am

@Grognard: Mate, you’re missing the point. People aren’t asking you to stop voicing your opinion – it’s valued – but repeating your opinion over an over again and calling other people idiots just because they can’t see it your way – something you’ve got the audacity to criticise em for, which a least shows you recognise it’s a problem – only stifles the debate. As to the paper analogy, it’s not like buying a paper and ignoring the ‘showbiz section’, it’s like buying the daily sport for the articulate articles and suddenly realising it’s dominated by crap. You can’t ignore you because you’re here, there and everywhere, so if you want to read this blog you have to read at least some of your comments.

It shouldn’t be like that. You go off and insult everyone in sight, including RR, and then cry about it, but you have no idea just how lenient he is with you. You’d have been banned much earlier if he wasn’t, because as many assets that you bring – and there are a few – it’s outnumbered by the problems you cause.

@elvido: Arrogance has to be earned? I’ve been on here for four fucking years mate. You’ve been on here for 20 minutes. You tell me who has earned what? Also, when you are replying to me or anyone else for that matter, may I suggest you drag your mouse cursor to the bottom right of the post you are replying to and click on the reply button. That will place the person’s name in red that you are replying to. It makes things easier. In this case it was clear as to who you were replying to but it may not always be that way. Just a friendly suggestion. I don’t mind being told I lack humility or that I am arrogant but then again, I appreciate more from someone like RedRich who has been around this blog long enough to make that kind of accusation. You mate are fairly new so you may take me as being that way because you caught me in a major debate in which my temper flared and my arrogance came out but trust me, I have my days where I am not the evil bastard you portray me as. That evil bastard comes out when people try to tell him how to think and how to act.

  27. Grognard

    August 15, 2010 at 5:47 pm

@Conor: Sorry you feel that way. You may think i am missing the point and perhaps in your way of looking at things I am, but in my world it is you who is missing the point entirely. Do you honestly think I get up every morning thinking that I want to come on here and feud with you and others and to start bellyaching about Fergie and the Glazer’s? HELL NO! It bores the crap out of me too but Fergie and his actions so infuriate me mate, that I cannot help myself. I so loathe the man these days for what he has and hasn’t done that I find it hard to contain myself when he comes out to the media and starts spewing his vile PR BS about the need for the fans to united with him and the team and to stop the anti Glazer stuff. I cannot tell you how that offends me and disturbs me to the core.

I cannot speak about you but I am a member of MUST and i wanted the Red Knights to take over and clean house. I donated a fair amount of my hard earned money to that cause and so the cause means something to me. It’s a noble and honourable crusade against greed, corruption and the rights of us fans to have a say in how this club should be run. So imagine my shock, surprise and disappointment when fans on here turn on me like I am some kind of Judas.

I am being accused of being redundant and not letting something die but this is war. Fergie and the Glazer’s are doing the same thing. They refuse to alter their position but you and others on here are forcing me to do that simply because you don’t share my beliefs or concerns about the club we all passionate about. I have talked at length about how many refuse to come out of their cocoons and see the big picture and what doing nothing now will mean in 4 years time, but it seems to mean nothing to many of you as all you care about is the Newcastle game.

Finally, you are in no position to tell me about RR and my relationship with him. If he wanted to ban me he would have because he has banned many others. The fact is that whether he agrees with me or not, he knows that most of my bad behaviour is provoked. People get into it with me and they start the name calling whereas I finish it. I rarely ever start that name calling but I do admit to having a short fuse and retaliating easily. Trust me, he has slapped my wrist more than once about that and many times I deserved it and accepted it but in this case I respectfully say that he dead wrong in his assertions and you are too. The bottom line mate is I respectfully have the right to offer my opinions on anything to do with Manchester United as long as it is clear I am a fan of the club and not an Arsenal follower. And you have the right to ignore my comments. So I ask you to kindly consider that option in the future. It is not my intention to antagonize you or piss you off. I believe in this crusade and all I am doing is venting my dissatisfaction and displeasure over what is happening behind closed doors at Old Trafford. I am not out of line here and I feel I have earned the right to do so. It matters not to me if it comes across as redundant to you or others because causes often do.

I believe in what I am saying and I know there are others who do so to. So all I ask is that you respect my feelings and rights to articulate my views on the game and on the current situation without getting this moralistic verbal diarrhea shoved at e every time i say something that offends your’s or somebody else’s senses. Sometimes the truth hurts and even if you don’t believe it to be true, it’s my view and my view should be respected if not agreed with. I respect yours, even if I don’t agree with it. And remember, my name calling only occurs when people break my door down first. Look it up and you will find very few instances where i have breached that law. I may have yesterday as my frustration level over everyone’s denial of the facts just reached peak tolerance. What can I say, I’m sorry but I am human. Again, I mean no disrespect to you or anyone on here but I am highly offended by the position you and others have taken against me on this issue. Fine, don’t agree with me but pleas, respect my right to vent my feelings as I would respect your right to do so. Disagree if you must but trying to force me to stop is not an option and not fair. And above all, I would like you and some others to stop making me out to be this horrible monster that has taken over this blog and is holding everyone hostage. That is so far from the truth and incredibly hurtful and awfully personal, don’t you think? πŸ™‚
