A selection of Manchester United fans have sympathised with midfielder Bruno Fernandes following the club’s disappointing 3-3 Premier League draw against Everton last night.
The Red Devils went ahead through Edinson Cavani’s header in the 24th minute after a superb cross from Marcus Rashford. The lead was doubled six minutes prior to the interval with a sublime goal from Fernandes.
The Portuguese produced a wonderful curling effort from outside the penalty box which dipped and beat goalkeeper Robin Olsen in the top corner of his goal.
Within the first seven minutes of the second half, the Toffees pulled out a stunning comeback to level the scores through Abdoulaye Doucoure and James Rodriguez.
Scott McTominay put the Red Devils ahead in the 70th minute after his header from a long-range Luke Shaw free-kick curled its way beyond the diving Olsen.
That was not sufficient to deliver the victory as Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored the equaliser for the Toffees in the final seconds of the contest.
The second-half defensive display was pretty average from the Red Devils and that cost them dearly as they went from two goals ahead to finish with a frustrating 3-3 draw.
However, the 26-year-old had an impressive game with another goalscoring contribution. He has now bagged a combined 50 goals and assists from just 55 league games.
Some United fans on Twitter sympathised with him after the result last night.
