Man Utd close to completing 1st summer transfer

Manchester United could be closing in on our first summer signing of 2020 with reports that Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez is ‘practically done’.

The Manchester Evening News are one of several sources citing Todo Fichajes‘ supposed claims today, though there’s nothing on the Spanish outlets website about the player today.

We have been linked with the Spanish international for a while now despite reports of his release clause being as high as €150 million (£131m). However, the COVID-19 pandemic is expected to financially cripple some clubs, and if Atletico Madrid are one of those, they may be forced to cash in on a player or two.

The MEN quote Todo Fichajes‘ as claiming that we’re close to wrapping up a deal worth around £70 million for the 25-year-old.

Whether Saul is really one of our priority targets this summer remains to be seen as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will surely look at a right winger and centre-back before another central midfielder.

As we previously stated, we cannot find this story on the Spanish outlets website, so we shall have to wait and see if there any further updates in the coming days about any possible transfer of Saul Niguez to Manchester United before we get too excited.
