Man Utd defender may have suffered injury on international duty

Many Manchester United players have been away with their countries this past week with Premier League action not returning until next Saturday.

In Europe, the UEFA Nations League is drawing to the end of the group stage, whilst Africa has qualifying for the 2019 African Cup of Nations.

One Manchester United player who has been in action this evening is Victor Lindelof. The 24-year-old played the first 45 minutes in Sweden’s trip to Turkey, but has been replaced at half-time, by fellow centre-back Filip Helander.

There has been no confirmation as to whether our defender has picked up a knock or not but it seems a strange decision to make a direct replacement at half-time if he’s not carrying an injury.

The half-time score in Turkey is 0-0. Should Sweden fail to win then Russia will win their group and be promoted to group A. Should Turkey win this evening then Russia win their group and relegate Sweden. Victory for Sweden this evening and then at home to Russia on Tuesday will see them win the group.
