Manchester United fans thrilled seeing Harry Maguire walking without crutches

BBC Sport’s Simon Stone has tweeted a picture of Manchester United skipper Harry Maguire walking without crutches or a protective boot.

United players were attending the premiere of Sir Alex Ferguson’s documentary – Never Give In.

The former United manager’s documentary is set to be released in UK cinemas on May 27 and on Amazon Prime Video two days later.

Maguire suffered ankle ligament injury against Aston Villa two weeks ago which forced him to miss his first Premier League minutes since arriving at the Theatre of Dreams in 2019.

The England international didn’t feature in the next three games against Leicester City, Liverpool and Fulham.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer used three different defensive partnerships in each match, rotating Axel Tuanzebe, Eric Bailly and Victor Lindelof.

Maguire’s absence was duly felt at the back as United conceded seven goals and picked up just one point from the three games.

The Red Devils are scheduled to face Villarreal in the Europa League final in Gdansk on May 26.

Solskjaer is sweating over Maguire’s fitness as he prepares his side for their most important fixture of the season.

Maguire has been seen on the sidelines with a protective boot on in the previous three games.

However, this new photo of him going about without any protective gear has bolstered United’s hopes that he will play in the final.

Here’s how the Red Devils’ fans reacted when they saw the picture of Maguire without any crutches.
