Manchester United are reportedly keen on bringing in RB Leipzig midfielder Marcel Sabitzer in the summer.
According to a report from the German news outlet Bild, the Austrian has one year left on his deal and is already planning for a future outside of the Bundesliga club.
The report adds that Leipzig are looking to get £36 million for Sabitzer, but United may negotiate the price, with the 27-year-old having just one year left in his contract.
Sabitzer, who has made 46 international appearances and scored eight goals for Austria, would be an ideal replacement for Nemanja Matic and Fred in United’s midfield.
He has scored 50 goals for Leipzig since moving to the club in 2014 and has found the back of the net six times in 21 Bundesliga games this term.
Sabitzer is also being heavily targeted by Tottenham Hotspur and if United are able to seal the deal, it would be a big blow for one of their primary Premier League rivals.
Sabitzer could be an interesting piece of the puzzle.
