Manchester United looking elsewhere as Jadon Sancho’s transfer is stalled

Jadon Sancho has remains Manchester United’s No.1 transfer target. But, the deal seems to have subsided in recent times. Dortmund’s CEO Michael Zorc is adamant about keeping the Englishman at Signal Iduna Park and won’t be looking at any bids lower than €120m. It is a big ocean and United have started surfing the market.

Ole Gunnar Solskjær sees Juventus forward Douglas Costa as a potential replacement to Jadon Sancho.

The Brazilian hasn’t had his best season at Juventus. Five goal involvements in 23 appearances will hardly get the fans out of their bed. But can be quite decisive when it comes to carrying the ball to the final third, getting past opponents and cause havoc inside the box. He averaged three key passes [passes leading to a shot] per game under Maurizio Sarri.

The new Juventus manager Andrea Pirlo is looking for a rehaul. Pirlo wants to offload some players in order to make the club financially stable and capable of investing in rather useful talents. Costa is one of the players who can leave the Old Lady.

It is reported that the scouting team at Old Trafford have been keeping tabs on Costa’s progress this season. The Reds are desperate to sign a right-winger.

Ole terms United’s performance against Sevilla last night “disappointing”, and looks to deepen his squad this summer.

“They [the players] need to keep improving, keep doing what they’ve done every single day and they’ve worked so hard, with the right attitude and mentality,” he said.

“We need to strengthen the squad depth because it’s going to be a long season.”

“It’s only going to be a couple of weeks rest until we get going again. We have to dust ourselves down, make sure that we are ready and fresh to go.”

By virtue of his productivity, Douglas Coster is a far cry from Jandon Sancho. Sir Alex had no stomach for midfield who did not score goals or create goals. Man U requires a forward who will be a reliable source of goals. Moussa Dembele is Solksjaer style. He is young, quick, argile, tricky and has guile and a sharp eye for goal in the worst of times. Martial and Ashford misfire when you need them most. There’s no need to bring in people who have failed elsewhere such as Ousmane Dembele, Douglas Coster etc.
