Manchester United player makes shocking claim about his team-mate

With the mojo  of superstars like Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba hogging the entire limelight onto them, there is another Manchester United star, who is silently impressing the Red Devils fans and team mates alike. That’s Antonio Valencia for you and his team mate Ander Herrera has hailed him as the ”Best right-back in the world” in an interview with MUTV.

Herrera has hailed Valencia as the best right back in the world, also claiming that the 31-year-old belongs to the same bracket as ex-Barcelona fullback Dani Alves, who is now at Juventus.

In his eighth season at Old Trafford, the winger turned full-back seems to thrive under new manager Jose Mourinho as not only his defending, but more notably his pinpoint crosses and meticulous deliveries are catching everyone’s eye as he registered three assists in United’s pre-season game against Galatasaray.

Carrying his sublime form, Valencia provided assist to Ibrahimovic’s Community Shield winning goal. Proving to be still a bullet, Valencia played pivotal part in Rooney’s goal against Bournemouth. In Southampton match, the former Wigan Athletic man had the figures of 89% pass accuracy, four blocks, three take-ons, three clearances  and two interceptions.

Talking to MUTV, Herrera said: ”I know him and have always liked the way he plays. I know he’s not a normal right-back because he used to play as a winger, but I think that, right now, he is the best right-back in the world, maybe with Dani Alves, because I like Dani Alves a lot. I think Antonio is one of the best right-backs in the world.”

”When you have a right-back who is quick to defend and he is crossing maybe six or seven times a game, always or almost always successfully, then he understands the football. When I have the ball, I know that Antonio’s always ready to receive it, always to give you one solution.”

”I think he’s going to be very important this season. He has already been very important for the club, he has already been here eight years, but I think I told you at the end of the last season something good is being cooked and everyone wants to be part of that.”

While Valencia is certainly a top class right-back but branding the Ecuador international as the best in the world, is a little bit over the top, one may feel.
