Manchester United receives transfer boost as Dortmund ‘tell Jadon Sancho he can leave’

According to German publication BILD, Borussia Dortmund have informed Jadon Sancho that he can leave in the summer.

The England international has been heavily linked to a move away from the Bundesliga club.

Both Manchester United and Chelsea are interested in acquiring his services this summer.

The Red Devils were chasing Sancho’s signature last year but had to end their pursuit due to a heavy price tag slapped by the German club.

However, Bild reports (via Daily Mail) that an offer of around £75 million will be enough for Dortmund to sanction his exit.

Jonathan Ikone of Lille’s Ligue 1 winning team has already been lined up as his replacement.

Allowing Sancho to leave will help them to keep hold of Erling Braut Haaland who has been drawing interest from major European clubs.

Red Rants View

The 21-year old star has shown his talent and vision in Germany for two continuous seasons.

In 36 games this term, he has scored 19 goals and produced 15 assists.

He is a strong dribbler of the ball who can easily beat his marker. He also has a quick turn of pace and can prove to be a lethal weapon when the team is counter-attacking.

Even at this young age, he has the experience of playing at the highest level for both club and country.

His arrival may curtail Mason Greenwood’s game time. However, every great United team succeeded because of the high competition for every position.

The £75 million fee looks to be a bargain, especially when compared to the previous summer when Dortmund demanded nearly double.

The Red Devils need to make sure that they complete this deal as soon as possible.

Playing a waiting game may persuade Sancho to join one of their rivals.
