Manchester United to open talks with 22-year-old €60m forward

As per reports from Gianluca di Marzio, Manchester United are exploring the options of talking Real Madrid’s Luka Jovic on loan for the rest of the 2020-21 season.

Jovic joined the Spanish club from Eintracht Frankfurt for €60m last summer.

But the Serbian, who scored 36 goals from 75 matches for the German club, has had massively underperformed for his new club, amassing only two goals from 28 appearances across all competitions. [source: Transfermarkt]

It is believed that Los Blancos are considering loaning him out for the 2020-21 campaign, with Real Madrid keeping their faith in veteran Karim Benzema for the main forward choice.

Manchester United, on the other hand, are feeling as if they need to add a better cover than Odion Ighalo to Anthony Martial.

Jovic, 22, has the experience to play in the bigger stages. And he possesses the appetite to prove his traits again right after a stubborn stint at Santiago Bernabeu. A season-long loan deal away from Madrid, as reported, could help him regain his lost confidence.

Manchester United are looking to boost up their transfer activities in the last week of the ongoing transfer window. They need a striker as Odion Ighalo’s loan deal is set to expire in less than 100 days.
