Manchester United want Paul Pogba to stay at Old Trafford

Manchester United are not in discussions with any club over the potential transfer of Paul Pogba.

The Red Devils bought him back to Old Trafford in 2016 by splashing the then-world record transfer fee of €105 million.

It may not be possible for the club to recoup a similar fee due to the current liquidity crunch in the market.

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, United are “not negotiating” with any club to sell Pogba this summer.

The midfielder is currently valued at £54m by Transfermarkt.

However, Romano revealed that the Red Devils won’t be selling the midfielder at this low price.

The 28-year old is in scintillating form for France in the ongoing European Championships.

He has shown how good he can be if given the freedom to venture forward.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has used Pogba mostly in wider positions since the turn of the year.

Playing in the midfield spot in the 4-2-3-1 formation makes him do more defensive work than he would like.

Having a disciplined holding midfielder alongside Pogba in a double pivot would allow Solskjaer to use him in deeper positions.

If United want to keep hold of him, the Norweigan has to implement a system that can bring the best out of Pogba.
