Marcus Rashford scores another landmark goal

Marcus Rashford continued his fine start to the 2017-18 season as he came off the bench to score Manchester United’s third goal in our 3-0 victory over FC Basel this evening.

The result leaves us top of Group A in the Champions League after the first match with CSKA Moscow winning 2-1 at Benfica in the other game in our group.

Goals from Marouane Fellaini after 35 minutes and Romelu Lukaku on 53 minutes had given us a 2-0 lead that we never looked like throwing away.

Rashford was introduced after 76 minutes in place of Juan Mata for his Champions League debut, and within 10 minutes he’d already got his name on the scoresheet with a precise finish.

The significance of this goal now means that the 19-year-old has scored on his Premier League, Europa League, EFL Cup, England and Champions League debuts.  He scored in his second FA Cup outing.

Marcus Rashford’s debut goals:

Europa League: Manchester United 5-1 FC Midtjylland, 25 February 2016 (2 goals)
Premier League: Manchester United 3-2 Arsenal, 28 February 2016 (2 goals)
International debut: England 2-1 Australia, 27 May 2016
EFL Cup: Northampton Town 1-3 Manchester United, 21 September 2016
Champions League: Manchester United 3-0 FC Basel, 12 September 2017
