Pogba delivers verdict on his partnership with Bruno Fernandes

Manchester United ace Paul Pogba has explained why he enjoys his formidable midfield partnership with Bruno Fernandes, per the club’s official website.

Pogba has gone from strength to strength since returning from a hamstring injury in mid-March, as has his partnership with Fernandes.

The duo has been a beating heart of United’s top-four charge in the Premier League, with their on-field collaboration thriving every passing week.

Despite none of them scoring in the Red Devils’ 3-1 win at Tottenham Hotspur last time out, they were instrumental in United’s mesmerising second-half comeback in London.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men are currently on a four-match winning streak in the Premier League and are close to securing Champions League football next term.

Pogba produced a superb performance against AC Milan in the Europa League last-16, scoring the deciding goal in his first appearance after injury.

The Frenchman has continued to deliver, racking up three assists in the next five matches, including a delightful set-up for Mason Greenwood’s 96th-minute strike at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last weekend.

Pogba and Fernandes played their part as United saw off Granada in the Europa League quarter-finals and they will now look to lead their side to a first European trophy since 2016/17.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner has offered his view of what many regard as the most exciting midfield partnership in the Premier League.

“I enjoy playing with Bruno,” he told United’s official website.

“He is someone who understands the game and understands the movement that can give you a beautiful pass – he can finish too. He is all over the place, he can do everything really… except defending.

“But really, it is always a joy to play him, to understand him. He understands me as well, he can take my position, I can take his position as well. I think he suits the team, he is a very dominant influence in our team.”

Pogba and Bruno should be on the pitch when United take on Burnley at Old Trafford on Sunday.
