A selection of Manchester United fans have reacted positively to the performance of Juan Mata during the club’s 1-0 triumph over Wolverhampton Wanderers in the FA Cup third round replay.
The Spaniard recently impressed against Norwich City in the Premier League with a couple of assists in a 4-0 win and that was sufficient to hand him with a starting role for the second game on the bounce.
Mata was unable to register another assist after Daniel James failed to make the most of a one-on-one opportunity to find the net past the advancing goalkeeper.
However, the 31-year-old did eventually make the difference on the counter-attack as he ran through with the ball from Anthony Martial before beating John Rudy in goal with a delightful dink.
While United were not overly impressive against the Wolves, Mata’s strike ensured that the club progressed to the fourth round of the FA Cup where they could come against either Tranmere Rovers or Watford.
This has certainly pleased a number of United fans, who have taken to Twitter to react to the display…

Thoughts of the Game:
Shaky in the Beginning but Good 2nd Half
Mata good again
Wan Bissaka Solid
Williams had Traore in his Pocket again
Matic & Fred held it down
We finally beat Wolves ????
Rashford injury hurts soo bad, need a miracle against Liverpool ?#MUNWOL

Mata may not leave @ManUtd as a legend like Cantona, Giggs, Robson, Rooney etc but he will be in the unsung hero level below, Irwin, Hughes, etc £40m worth every penny, he has given us great service with moments of pure magic. What a quality player and fan favourite #MUTV

Mata has largely been a squad player over the past 18 months but he has recently picked up his performances and has contributed one goal and two assists from 180 minutes of first-team action.
Some United supporters believe the club’s pursuit of Bruno Fernandes has triggered the upturn in form and the Spaniard is determined to show that he can provide the creativity from the attacking midfield role.
