Manchester United have made the biggest signing of the January transfer window to date with the acquisition of Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal.
The Chilean arrived at Old Trafford on Monday in a direct swap deal with Henrikh Mkhitaryan going in the other direction.
Since that deal we continue to more signings, both this month and in the summer.
The latest report is coming from Spanish outlet Don Balon claiming that Real Madrid have renewed their interest in David de Gea.
Our goalkeeper is currently the best in the world right now and currently leads the Premier League Golden Glove race with 14 shut outs in 24 games this season.
There’s no doubt that Zinedine Zidane’s side are keen to land a new goalkeeper with both Keylor Navas and Kiko Casilla not living up to expectations.
Don Balon are claiming that Real Madrid are prepared to offer both Keylor Navas and Mateo Kovacic in exchange for de Gea. Whilst Jose Mourinho is in the market for a central midfielder and that Kovacic is a very good one, I think we’d be making a backwards step to sell de Dea.
Jose Mourinho has previously rejected offers for our Spanish goalkeeper in the past and I don’t see the boss changing his mind. If anything, de Gea’s performances and importance have only increased further since Real Madrid last came in for the 27-year-old.
Real Madrid have also been linked with Chelsea’s Thibaurt Courtois and Tottenham Hotspur’s Hugo Lloris – two players that I feel are more likely to end up at the Santiago Bernabeu than our goalkeeper.
