Report: €35m rated youngster to snub Manchester United

Manchester United were reportedly interested in signing Sandro Tonali from Brescia for a fee of around €35m.

However, that deal seems to have fallen through.

Earlier in this saga, the likes of Juventus and Inter Milan were the front-runners to secure Tonali’s services.

Juventus dropped their interest in signing the 20-year-old early on. Inter Milan’s Sporting Director Piero Ausilio confirmed that Inter didn’t start any negotiations with the player. They are in shortage of funds and want to sign Arturo Vidal from Barcelona on a free transfer.

This was supposed to be an advantage for United. But, Tonali wants to stay in Italy.

AC Milan saw an advantage and made quick moves to lure Tonali away.

Brescia President Massimo Cellino confirms that they rejected Manchester United’s bid for Tonali. Cellino adds that United’s bid was €10m more than AC Milan who made a last-ditch attempt to sign Tonali. Milan are ready to pay €10m as a loan fee + €15m on a permanent move + €10m bonuses.

He also says that Tonali loves AC Milan and would sign for the club in upcoming days.
