If it wasn’t for the penalty you’d barely know he was on the pitch!
And for the record – RVP DIDN’T leave Arsenal to win trophies. He left for more MONEY. Would he have joined United if they offered him LESS than Arsenal. Of course not. Get over yourselves. Once agian United had to BUY to win the title, just like ALL their trophies. Arsenal remain the PNLY club to win the Prem without buying it. And were INVINCIBLE doing it too!

@JackFact: If he left for the money he would have signed for City.
He left to win trophies which he will never do at Arsenal. Also were Henry, Reyes, Bergkamp products of your youth system? I think not, we won it with British players…

@JackFact: “And for the record – RVP DIDN’T leave Arsenal to win trophies. He left for more MONEY”.

Hmm, so how come he turned down the riches at city to join us then eh Jacky boy 😕 ❓
And how come hes already won his first PL winners medal within 8 months of joining us, with him putting in committed and all round brilliant performances on a near enough weekly basis.
Doesn’t exactly sound like the actions of a guy here to merely count his money to me.

Here’s an article from an arsenal fan I read yesterday, that I think makes a lot of decent points.
Maybe as the author says, you should be looking at Wenger and not a player whose now nothing more to do with your club, for someone to cast your frustrations towards, as that’s a man who imo has lost the plot and is the major reason for your continuous rapid decline.
      Just something to think about.

@tonymontanna4united: Just read this and could not believe it. An Arsenal fan with objectivity. Astonishing. If only Arse fans could see the bigger picture like this blogger.

Right guys, it seems SAF is willing to spend in the summer but the question is who has he been scouting and who will he go for?

I think it would be good if we were to go for these players (one from each)

Centre Midfield – Kevin Strootman, Sven Bender, Ilkay Gundogan
Wide Player – Gareth Bale, James Rodriguez
Defender – Matts Hummels, Benedikt Howedes, Ezequiel Garay

I don’t know how much funding we would have to sign 3 of the above players but it would serioulsy strenghten our squad considerably. In order to fund the transfers I assume we would offload some players (anderson, nani, ashley young?).

What do you guys think and who would you like to see become part of United squad next season?

@Racs: We won’t sign Gundogan or Strootman. They are central midfielders.

        @Moscow: Lol

Yes we all know that Ferguson would just die if he actually bought a central midfielder.

So dreaming of strootman or Gundogan is stupid and fanciful.

SAF must be allergic to central midfielders

@Racs: Yes he did. he said we were competitive, but not at the same level as Chelsea or City. So that means we are no longer in the same league as Bayern, RM and Barca either.
By my reckonings that puts us in the 6th as far as how we rate to top players and their agents.
So we either get the scraps or we invest in our youth – and there you have it, ladies, United is an also-ran in the transfer market.

Do hope Welbeck, Cleverley, Jones and Evans are your cuppa, because that’s what you’re saddled with for the foreseeable future.

@Racs: If we sign Bale it would take a miracle of biblical proportions. Not that I don’t want him, but really it’s because there is no financial commitment to sign the best of the best, nor even the best of the rest.

I don’t know what more we can do. We pack our very large stadium game in and game out, we qualify for the CL every year, we have very lucrative endorsements, and barring Rooney, our pay structure is respectable compared to most.
It’s just that the Glazer’s need the money for themselves, and so our success, financially and on the playing field, is a revenue source and not a bonus that can be re-invested.

If Anderson doesn’t leave in this coming window then Ferguson needs to play him in every game otherwise I don’t understand why we still have him.

RVP should have a chat with jack Wilshere and tell him all about the awesomeness of United. Imagine getting Wilshere and Alex Song in during the coming window

@The_Philosopher: Unfortunately Wilshere’s ego has been bloated at Arsenal, they’ve given him the No 10 shirt and given him the hype they gave Fabregas, they will soon make him captain to make him stay. We can’t buy him until at least 2-3 years down the line. He is a cocky little shit as well.

Well, Jose isn’t special anymore.. As usual in defeat it is all about him and he flees to “where he is loved, England” Get over yourself, we don’t love you. The man is a coward, stay and fight, pathetic little man.

Fergie does need to look at where his side is going. The thoughts of Lewandowski are great, if we keep Rooney a striker really isn’t our priority.

We clearly need to sign a midfield player, Scholes is retiring, Anderson is shit and will be maybe sold. This is really the only area we need to strengthen and our focus should be solely on this.

Zaha is a real punt, he has lots of ability but is very raw. I hope he develops better than Nani, who has everything but lacks maturity to realise his talent.

Jones should only be played a centre back, for me he will excel there and be a future United and England captain. Fergie should stop pulling his players all over the pitch. It did not help with O’Shea who lost his identity and Smalling and Jones could suffer. Rooney also has suffered with this, if he were played only as a striker he would be revered as one of the best centre forwards in the World.

There are still rumours about his buying another keeper, I really hope we don’t. I was first to criticise De Gea and I was wrong, he is the future.

@Stephen: Two trebles in different countries, league titles in England, Spain, Italy and Portugal. As many CL titles as Ferguson. If he returns to Chelsea they will win the league.

@Moscow: Correction: If he returns to Chelsea (AND HAS A $100 million transfer kitty) he will win the league.

What’s new about that? Mancini did the same.

        • Moscow

          1 May 2013 at 18:11

@Opti: Let’s hope he doesn’t replace Mancini because then we’re really fucked.

Moscow, I know you are Mourinho’s number 1 fan mate, people thought he was going to win the league and Champions League this season and he hasn’t.
Some people said Fergie should have been sacked at the end of last year, we won the title, lets see.
Real, Chelsea and Inter were hardly a tough jobs, funny he runs away, he is a coward of the highest order.

    • Moscow

      1 May 2013 at 12:14

@Stephen: He will have stayed at Real for 3 seasons without getting sacked, that’s quite an achievement mate as is beating the ‘Best Team Ever’ to the league title last season. Mourinho didn’t spend any money with Inter, bought Sneijder for £12 million, traded Ibrahimovic with Eto’o + £40 million, bought Milito for peanuts from Genoa, then won the treble by beating an even more ‘unstoppable’ Barca side, playing with 3 strikers. Then you consider that Inter hadn’t won a European Cup in half a century, that’s pretty fucking amazing mate whatever your opinion of him. He’s also the only manager other than Fergie to win back to back PL Titles, he holds the current points record of 95 points. He has broken the same record in Spain with 100 points, including the most goals ever scored in a La Liga season.

There’s also the small matter of winning the treble with Porto, don’t think that was easy. He hasn’t had a bad word said against us or Fergie, he has wanted the United job for a while now. How is he a coward mate?

      • Stephen

        1 May 2013 at 12:35

@Moscow: If he wasn’t leaving he would be sacked, managers have been sacked for less at Real. The side is in disarray and he was only kept on to win the Champions League. 15 payers have all asked for him to be removed, he has dropped their captain.

Inter were the Champions when he took over, Juve were nowhere neither were Milan. Also at Porto they were also Champions when he took over, he deserves credit for winning the Champions League but over Monaco?! lets be honest he should have never been there in the first place after what happened at OT.

Barca this season were for the taking, their manager was suffering from cancer and they have hardly been at their free flowing best.

At Chelsea, they finished 2nd, he took over with an unlimited budget, good for him for winning (winning playing turgid football) but again hardly a challenge.

I would have shown him respect if he stayed at Real. He has lost the league and Champions league and he is running before he would inevitably been sacked. For me this would be a challenge. I know you are a big fan and I do not want to fall out mate, but so many hang onto his every word like love struck teenagers. Yes he is a good manager, but he has had a lot of luck and walks away at a challenge, that is why he is a coward. Fergie keeps coming back for more.

      • Opti

        1 May 2013 at 17:34

@Moscow: At Inter he left the team in squalid condition. Even the Spanish vulture could not get a meal from them and they missed out on Champions league following an aging squad.

Mourinho has not build a team with youth EVER. He has bought and filled teams with expensive and great talents, yet never managed to over challenges afterwards.

Porto… that’s like splashing about how great Celtic is in Scotland 🙂 OK, maybe not that bad but you get my point 🙂

          1 May 2013 at 18:09

@Opti: Yeah, we don’t drag players out of retirement instead of playing our promising youngsters in midfield *cough* *cough* Mourinho uncovered stars like Deco and Carvalho at Porto… he created the spine of Cech, Terry, Lampard and Drogba at Chelsea which lasted years after he left… let’s just forget these little details…
