So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish

This is a long time coming. This site’s been a big part of my life since the May of 2007 and I have to say, with a heavy heart, (and without much ado) I bid farewell to the loyal readers and the great community that’s grown around the site.

This might come as a shock to a few, but I think the vast majority of regulars probably already know this site has been on life support as far as frequent updates go. (Thank you David for your match previews, or this would have been worse)

Biggest thanks of course go to those who contribute below the foldβ€”to those of you who’ve kept this site going despite me with their passionate rants/opinionsβ€”you know who you all are.

I have a lot going on the personal front, career-wise and otherwise which makes it impossible to run this thing. I have made several false starts in trying to rejuvenate this blog but I’ve never been able to match up to the consistency of the peak ’07/’08/early ’09 years. I have come to realize that this blog will be better served in someone else’s hands, and I trust Ahmed will do the needful to keep the site going. Shutting it down will be unfair on the community and would never be the option. However, I’ve heard word from Ahmed (of in case you didn’t know) that he’s got a few writers lined up to make this place more prolific. The last post by Eddie Griffin is one of many more to come, I hope. [Contact Ahmed if you want to contribute.]

And as for me. I may or may not come backβ€”and even if I do, it will be only as a guest contributor.

PS: Those of you who’ve emailed me asking me where I have been, apologies for not responding promptly. I will reply over this week.

Glory, glory!

  1. Some of you folks are jumping the gun about who to sell and buy.

Fergie will never go for Torres or any other Liverpool player — Liverpool is his Devil. In his eyes, Leeds were small time threats and Liverpool is the big Satan. Same reason we never bid on Micah Richards or other City players— they are very close to big Satan in Fergie’s eyes.

Personally, I am wary of signing Torres because of his injury-history. Reina is good but reminds me of Howard this season with some serious bubble-hands. πŸ˜€ Gerrard is too wage-expensive.

There is no reason to tap up Liverpool players unless they offer us Torres for 20 milion or less.

Let’s hope Chelsea drop pts against Shitty!

  2. How can anyone seriously suggest that we sell Rooney? He is 24 years old and only just committed his first big PR mistake. Rooney will get back to form, it is inevitable!

  3. Yaya Toure is a beast.I don’t know but he may be better than Essien.Completely dominated the midfield so far .

  4. @Owen: I think your being a bit unfair to Hernandez by calling him 1 dimensional. He is a striker that needs service, so far he has received very little. And why do you want Michael Owen to play so badly? He’s never going to be a first choice striker for us, he’s too old now. So why would we take minutes away from Hernandez and macheda who are our future?

  5. Is it me, or do younger Man City fans look like they belong on Teen Mom…

  6. @Johnsom33: Errr Owen is not that old mate.He has good 2 years left in him and can really serve us.And if Fergie does not want to play him, then he should be released mate.He is a good guy and i want him to score goals for any other teams like Villa,West Ham or Sunderlands.

  7. @Owen: I agree that we should release him, not cause he is rubbish but because he should be playing every week.

  8. The “best developed” team in the world are down 3-1. πŸ˜† πŸ˜†

  9. Arsenal down 3-1 at home to a team Chelsea beat 6-0, and Liverpool drawing at home to Sunderland with one of the worst referees I’ve seen for ages. If things stand as they do right now, and we beat Bolton tomorrow, this would be a fantastic weekend!

  10. Errrr somebody please tell me – deliberate elbowing in the face of a player (like Gerrards assault on Welbeck) is a RED card isn’t it? If it wasn’t deliberate then it shouldn’t have been a card at all. Gerrard was having one of his lunacy days again, and got away with it! Collymore is such a fucking hypocrit – he said of the elbowing, Gerrard did lead with his arm, but only he knows whether it was intentional or not πŸ™„ . You can guarantee IF that had been a United player Collymore would now be on the mountaintops telling the whole world it was deliberate!

  11. @Craig Mc: Seriously Bro, who really gives a fuck what that ex scouse cunt Collyflowerhead has to say? I know its annoying to listen to but what do you expect? Half the tv pundits seem to be ex scouse! and we all recognise ABU shit when we hear/read it.

  12. I missed the CC game due to work! So missed the first outing of this kit, just as well that i’m boycotting merchandise still!

  13. The best United kits since 2000, in my opinion

    1. Our current home kit
    2. 2008/09 third kit, the blue one
    3. 2007-2009 home kit.
    4. The current away kit.
    5. 2004-2006 home kit.

But from all the kits we’ve worn, this one is my favorite

  14. soooo spurs scum and aresholes loose and fools draw today if only two teams could loose the same game we would have had a perfect day. 😎

  15. with a win tomorrow we will close the gap to a point on the scum and all our draws and all there 6-0s will be forgotten 😎

then we just have to match them for the rest of the season and beat them. OPTI

  16. If you have started watching football this season only, then please don’t think that Cristiano Ronaldo is the worst player in world. He was a great player once.Check his record when he was RED. 😳

  17. Watch our lot go fuck it up at Bolton tomorrow. Isn’t it the pattern of things that when we have a great opportunity to gain advantage – we seem to cock it up good and proper πŸ™„ . Nothing less than 3 points will do, but when we need it we seldom come up trumps πŸ˜† .

  18. @ RedRanter

This is indeed sad news. you will be missed.

Thanks for your superb effort with everything regarding this site.
You have always been fair and an excellent example as a leader. It is with much respect that I bid you well for your future endeavours.
