Update on Alexis Sanchez’s Man Utd future

Manchester United forward Alexis Sanchez moved to Internazionale on a season-long loan back in August.

The 31-year-old’s season had been disrupted by injury up to Serie A’s suspension in March – making only two starts and seven substitute appearances.

However, the Chilean international has been involved in all four of Antonio Conte’s side’s fixtures since the restart, though only starting one.

Sanchez’s loan deal was originally due to expire on 30 June, but the two clubs have been in discussions over extending that deal.

Manchester United have now offered an update on the future of Alexis Sanchez, saying that he will remain on loan with Inter until the first week of August, when the Italian season finishes.

The news was confirmed on the club’s official website this afternoon:

“Alexis’s deal at Inter Milan has also been extended until the end of the first week of next month.”

Back in May, Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio told Sky Sports Italia that they were still undecided on whether they will sign Alexis before the start of next season.

The player’s future at Old Trafford certainly looks very grim with Mason Greenwood starting to establish himself down the right, with Marcus Rashford moving out to the left wing.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has also been using Daniel James and Jesse Lingard down the wings this season whilst Sanchez never impressed under the Norwegian last season.
